THE LITTLE GERANIUM RESTAURANT LA CALA DE MIJAS

The Little Geranium restaurant was opened in La Cala de Mijas in 2015 by Michelle and Steven Saunders. Steven was looking to retire after appearing in TV programs like Master Chef, TV celebrity chef, Michelin chef and BBC Ready Steady Cook. The opening of the restaurant was seen by Steven as a pastime but the success of restaurant has kept the pair very busy. This is a hands on business that needs their personal attentions. Steven visits various markets to select meats, fish, truffles and wild mushrooms every day. This ensures their guests have the freshest food available. Among Stevens many talents he has written ten best selling cookery books.

The restaurant is covered with fresh flowers and plants, pictures of friends and family, hand made furniture, white distressed French tables and fantastic glassware.

The restaurant has a small but varied menu with Tapas and A La Carte . Steven has had to keep the menu manageable because the kitchen is very small but he does change the menu monthly.

Opening Times

The restaurant opens at 1pm and serves contemporary tapas until 4pm.

The evening menu starts at 6.30pm and is A La Carte and served until 10.30pm.

There is an early bird menu for the evening starting at 6.30pm which is available until 7pm. This consists of 4 courses for the price of 39 euro per person. This is available by reservation only.

The lunch time service has a winter Tapas A La Carte starting 9 euro a dish up to 18 euro for Galician Beef Fillet. The 4 course lunch time Little Tapas consists of Cava or House wine and 4 tapas and dessert.

The EveningĀ  A La Carte menu starts at 15 euro for starters up to 29 euro for Shellfish. The main course evening dishes start at 26 euro for Campo Chicken up to 32 euro for Toledo Venison. Desserts range from 6 to 12 euro. You also have a Platinum Tasting menu from 95 to 150 euro per person which consists of 8 courses. The Tasting Menu is 5 courses for 69 euro per person and you can pair this with 5 wines selected by Steven to complement each dish.

This restaurant locatedĀ  in La Cala de Mijas is only 30 minutes from Malaga Airport.

You can travel from Malaga Airport to La Cala de Mijas with www.malagaminibus.com for 96 euro for up to 4 persons. 106 euro for up to 8 persons, 195 euro for up to 13 persons and 205 euro for up to 16 people. You can also travel with Malaga Airport Transfers from anywhere on the Costa Del Sol at very competitive prices. This enables you to enjoy the fine wines at the Little Geranium.
